Kirkland Lake is in for a full day of wrestling this Saturday, Aug. 29, as Rock Solid Wrestling brings its action-packed show to the community while also raising money for Community Living Kirkland Lake.
The day will begin at the Teck Centennial Public Library Summer Market & Community Fair, running from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Wrestling fans will have the chance to meet Rock Solid Wrestling Tag Team Champion and “Kirkland Lake’s Adopted Son” Uncle Custom Markus Ryan, who will be at the event for photos and autograph signings.
Fans can also purchase tickets for the evening’s main event, Kirkland Lake Towing presents Shake The Lake, directly from the Rock Solid Wrestling booth. While they’re there, they can pick up a “Books & Bodyslams Bingo” card, combining a little wrestling fun with the community atmosphere of the summer market.
Wrestling Takes Over Northern College
The excitement continues into the evening at the Northern College Kirkland Lake gymnasium. Doors open at 6 p.m., with the opening bell scheduled for 7 p.m.
The card promises plenty of star power, featuring TNA star Cody Deaner, Canadian Tag Team Champions The Ontario Wrecking Crew, women’s wrestling standout KC Spinelli, and several other performers.
Rock Solid Wrestling event promoter Adam Contant said the goal is to make the event about more than what happens inside the ring.
“Saturday is going to be a special day for Rock Solid Wrestling and for the entire Kirkland Lake community,” Contant said. He added that the promotion wants to connect with local fans, support community organizations and create an experience people will remember.
Fun That Gives Back
The event will also directly support Community Living Kirkland Lake, with proceeds from every ticket helping the organization.
Tickets are $25 for floor seats and $20 for bleacher seats and can be purchased online at RockSolidPro.ca or in person at the Rock Solid Wrestling booth during the Summer Market & Community Fair.
With activities getting underway in the morning and professional wrestling taking centre stage in the evening, Saturday promises to be a busy and exciting day for wrestling fans and families throughout Kirkland Lake.
