Librarian Melanie Lemieux had the crowd in stitches as she begged a mischievous puppet monkey – brought to life by Francine Denis, the library’s child & youth services librarian – to help her hunt for lost treasure in “Yo-Ho-Ho: A Pirate Tale,” a lively bilingual play and puppet show at the Timmins Public Library on Tuesday, Aug. 12.

Kids leaned forward, laughed, and joined in the fun as the story sailed along with songs, jokes and colourful puppetry. Don’t miss the next treat: the library’s End of Summer Party for Summer Reading Club participants on Aug. 20 at 6 p.m. – a perfect way to celebrate everything those young readers achieved this season.
